Advising

Advisory serves as a hub of the student experience at St. Paul’s, providing a fluid, safe place each week to connect with friends, to receive academic and emotional support, and to ask any type of question. The goal of the advisory program is to help each student feel that they belong and to ensure that they have an adult on campus they may trust. Students are with their advisory for the seventh and eighth grade years. In Sixth Grade, we maintain a homeroom model.
As partners with students’ parents and caregivers, advisors draw on deep experience of working with preteens and adolescents to support families as they navigate the middle-school years. In addition to advocating for students, advisors monitor the academic experience and personal growth of their advisees. Advisors reach out to families at the beginning of each year, meet regularly with students to review grades and comments, facilitate student-led conferences, and are the initial point of contact if a family has any questions or concerns.
