Buddies

Individuals and groups of teachers interested in social, service learning, and/or academic goals developed collaborative learning at St. Paul's, informally known as buddy projects. Although changing over time, buddy projects and cross-grade activities have become incorporated into the fabric of the curriculum and the life of the school.

Allowing a student to teach another child communicates that the student is trusted. This act says that we know the student-teachers are worthy and responsible. This accountability spills over to other areas, such as homework and general demeanor at school. Giving children opportunities to act responsibly develops citizenship skills. It helps students to look at all sides of an issue and to understand the depth and complexity of most decisions.

In our weekly chapel assemblies, students become teachers, solidifying their learning in the process, as they present and engage the school community on academic, social, and cultural themes from the classroom, affinity groups, and community engaged learning.

Student Council

Student Council fosters leadership, service, and engagement within the middle school community. Through Student Council, students have the opportunity to represent their peers, develop ideas that enhance student life, and take an active role in shaping the school experience.

Student Council members are committed leaders who plan and organize community-building events, including Spark Cup activities, school dances, movie nights, and other social programs. They help manage fundraising efforts through the student store, serve as ambassadors for prospective families, and work to strengthen the sense of belonging, connection, and school spirit that defines student life at St. Paul’s.
