St. Paul’s School is delighted to announce Cheryl Ting as our next Head of School.
Cheryl brings 23 years of experience in three Bay Area independent schools, including 10 years at Redwood Day School in Oakland, where she has served as Director of Admissions and currently serves as Assistant Head of School. Cheryl has been responsible for all aspects of the academic program and faculty professional development. Notably, she played a lead role in addressing curriculum improvements across the K-8 experience. She has also led and facilitated equity, inclusion, and anti-bias training for trustees, faculty, and staff.
Cheryl’s authenticity and passion for St. Paul’s, coupled with her extensive experience in K-8 education shone throughout her time on campus. She “gets” St Paul’s and is committed to working with the entire community toward our mission and vision as outlined in our strategic plan, Spark 2022.
In Cheryl’s own words, “Having the opportunity to serve St. Paul’s is a dream come true. The school’s values and character resonate with my family and with me. I approach this opportunity to work with the students, faculty, and families in the St. Paul’s community with humility and excitement.”
Cheryl will start her new role on July 1, 2020. Before then, you may see her around campus, as she works through the transition with Josh, the Board and our community. Josh will continue in his dedicated focus as our current Head of School through the rest of the school year, while Cheryl finishes the school year at Redwood Day School.
Please join the St. Paul's Board of Trustees in congratulating and welcoming Cheryl as our Head of School-elect.
