The St. Paul’s school community feels deeply saddened and angered by the murders in recent days of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, and Tony McDade - and the many murdered before them. We acknowledge that their deaths are part of the greater injustice of systemic racism and discrimination against Black and Brown people that is deeply embedded in our nation’s history. We stand in solidarity with Black and Brown communities in the fight against this injustice.
We have not wavered from our core commitment: we are grounded in the pursuit of social justice and a fidelity to the values of diversity, equity and inclusion. It has never been more important for us to help our children be the light of the world and to allow their light shine before them.
We encourage every member of our community to channel your feelings toward constructive action in support of the communities affected by the injustices we see in our society. May your actions be a source of support and validation to the lives of those so deeply impacted by the continued struggle for justice and equality.
