Diversity of Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
Its multifaceted work requires the Board, as a whole, to possess diverse attributes, skills and knowledge. Ideally, the skill sets of individual members put together compose a complete picture for the Board.
The Board looks for members with backgrounds in law, business, finance, education (K-8, high school and higher education), marketing, social services, nonprofit, fundraising, human resources, religion, media, technology, science, arts, management, politics and government.
We seek expertise in fields such as facilities management, financial management, information services, public relations, nonprofit governance and strategic planning.
At the same time, we seek diversity in race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability and socioeconomic status. The Board also wants a variety of perspectives from the parent community, past parents, faculty, educators from schools other than St. Paul’s, community members, church representatives and alumni.
