You may make a gift by credit card online using the form above or over the phone during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, by contacting us at 510.285.9629.

Stock and securities may be transferred directly to the School’s brokerage account. Donors receive tax deductions based on the fair market value of the property at the time of the gift and avoid capital gains tax on appreciated property. Instructions for transferring stock can be found here.

Gifts in-kind, such as computers, software, library books, furniture, professional services, and other items relevant to the School’s educational programs, are welcome. St. Paul’s does not assign a dollar value to gifts in-kind.

Pledge to give during this fiscal year using the recurring gift form. Pledges must be fulfilled by May 1, 2024. If you prefer to make alternate arrangements for a pledge/pledge payments, please reach out to the Development Office at development@spes.org.

Planned and deferred gifts through wills, bequests, trusts, and insurance provide mutually beneficial giving opportunities. Please consider St. Paul's in your estate planning.

As a member of the St. Paul's community, we ask that you put St. Paul’s at the top of your philanthropic priorities. Gifts to the Annual Fund range from $20 to $20,000. Our goal is to raise approximately $1250 per student; many donors give less than that, many give about that, and a smaller group give much more. We ask that you make your best gift, whatever that means to you. All gifts are equally appreciated.

Give to support the families and faculty who make up St. Paul’s. At St. Paul’s, a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging permeates every aspect of the program - including our finances. St. Paul’s provides twice as much tuition assistance to twice as many families as a typical independent school (as a percentage of operating budget). This investment ensures access to a St. Paul’s education for students who represent a wide range of backgrounds and experiences across the socioeconomic spectrum. At the same time, St. Paul’s compensates our faculty and staff to the greatest extent that budget allows. Our commitments to our people make fundraising critical; your gifts make the St. Paul’s mission a reality. Your participation at any level represents our shared investment in this unique community.

Annual Fund revenue is not used for “extras.” We rely on Annual Fund revenue to support critical elements of the school’s program (salaries, professional development, tuition assistance, and more). In fact, because our school’s Flexible Tuition is uniquely robust, the need for fundraising is greater here than at any of our peer schools.

A pledge for the 2022-2023 campaign can be made now and paid later, at any time up until May 2023. A gift is paid outright.

Making your commitment by the year’s end allows the school to budget accurately for next year.

Please check with the Human Resources Office where you work to learn if your employer will match your contribution to St. Paul’s. Let us know that you have submitted a matching gift request to your company so we can work with you in monitoring this.

Yes. Your gifts are tax deductible within the calendar year that they are made. Pledges are tax deductible in the year that they are fulfilled. St. Paul's Episcopal School is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) institution with the federal tax identification number 94-1525621. Gifts to the Annual Fund are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law. Pledge payments are due by May 1 of the fiscal year in which they were made. If you wish to take a tax-deductible charitable donation in the current calendar year, you must make your contribution by December 31. 

Absolutely. As a small independent school, we do not receive funding from state or federal government and are not eligible for funding sources available to public institutions. By supporting St. Paul’s, you sustain the values that make St. Paul’s a special place and preserve it for future generations, just as those in the past maintained St. Paul’s for students today.
