Literary Analysis in Seventh Grade

Our seventh grade English Language Arts students demonstrated exceptional critical thinking and
creativity last week as they dove deep into Aiden Thomas's novel Cemetery Boys. Students
took on the role of professional chapter reviewers, crafting thoughtful poster presentations that
analyzed chapters 1-15 of this compelling young adult novel.
Each student created a comprehensive poster featuring a creative title, detailed chapter
summary and critique, three significant quotes with analysis, and original hand-drawn artwork
representing key themes and scenes. The multi-day workshop format allowed students to
engage intentionally with the text, developing their analytical writing skills while expressing their
unique perspectives and creativity.
