Performing Arts for Grandparents & Special Friends Day
Sahar Miller, K-4 Performing Arts

We concluded our 2025-2026 concert season with a successful Grandparents & Special Friends Day Concert. Afterwards I asked the students how they felt about the performance. One student said, “It felt short!” That is quite true! Weeks of preparation for a performance that lasts just a few minutes. That is the story of a performer. But what a strong few minutes of performance each class had!

We had a diverse selection of music. The K-1-2 Choir performed the hymn “Morning Has Broken,” and a classic song from the movie Toy Story, “You’ve Got a Friend In Me.” This trimester, Third Grade studied Bob Dylan and folk music. They performed the Bob Dylan tune, “Blowin’ In the Wind.” The Fourth Grade choir performed a song in Spanish, “Vivir Mi Vida,” by Marc Anthony. Both third and fourth grade performances included recorders.
