Learning Services in Grades 6-8 focus on utilizing neuro-psychological testing to provide specific, directed interventions for students with learning differences. Through the structure that is provided by the classroom teachers, administration support, and the learning specialist, challenges are addressed using accommodations, modifications, and self-advocacy skills. Specifically, an individualized Learning Care Plan is developed for each student based on the neuro-psych recommendations. Communication with parents/caregivers, teachers, therapists, and administration is ongoing. Check-ins with the students by the learning specialist occur throughout the week and during times of major assessments/testing/writing assignments.
