The structures that support our capacity to approach academics through the Equity & Belonging lens live in our guiding practices, how we frame conversations, and how we craft curriculum.

The identity work that happens at the beginning of every school year opens pathways to deep academic learning by creating a culture of trust and belonging. At each grade level, students are not only challenged to master content but also to understand themselves as learners. At each grade level, students are challenged not only to master academic content and understand themselves as learners, but also to learn about the impact one’s actions have on the group and learn how each one brings unique knowledge. By exploring their strengths, investigating different learning styles, and learning to advocate for their needs, students build the foundation for becoming independent, self-motivated learners and dependable community members.
