St. Paul’s School's academic program begins with honoring and respecting each individual as a unique scholar with particular skills and strengths. As an educational community, the School focuses on the pursuit of learning as well as the pursuit of knowledge. The School fulfills its vision by providing students with opportunities and materials to learn, by encouraging creativity and imagination and by developing self-confident individuals who exhibit compassion and respect about others and the world. St. Paul’s School also supports teachers as professionals and scholars who are always learning and growing.

St. Paul’s School's curriculum is informed by the academic guidelines established by the California State Educational Framework, and the School pursues academic excellence through a rigorous multicultural curriculum that includes Spanish in all grades, the arts (fine arts, music, and performing arts), physical education, computers, spiritual and character development, and an award-winning Service Learning Program. St. Paul’s School follows standards and practices of Schools Attuned and The Responsive Classroom.

St. Paul’s School seeks to provide students and teachers alike with an environment where learning opportunities are always prevalent and always addressed. In addition to the standard curricula, St. Paul’s believes in responding to teachable moments. When necessary and appropriate, different segments of the student population may participate in discussions or projects related to a current issue.

Young people are also citizens of the world, with their own observations, perceptions and understandings of what is going on around them. St. Paul’s School makes every effort to include opportunities for students to explore, evaluate and develop their own thinking as essential components of education. Maintaining a broadly diverse community provides tremendous opportunity for students to learn about others and the world in which we live.

St. Paul’s School relies on the highest quality of teachers, staff and administrators to provide students with a respectful, responsible, and rigorous learning environment. Teachers continue to pursue their own education with support from the School through workshops, school-sponsored activities, and ongoing education.
