Annual Fund

The Annual Fund at St. Paul’s Episcopal School is a vital component of the operating budget and supports the School’s nationally recognized Tuition Assistance Program, as well as other expenses involved in providing a nurturing educational environment and community. The Annual Fund is supported by parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, faculty and staff, and friends of the School. Every gift to the Annual Fund makes a difference, regardless of the amount.

Capital Funds

Maintaining the School’s buildings and campus are very much like owning a home – managing regular maintenance costs on an annual basis and engaging in major improvements at appropriate times. Once or twice a decade schools generally conduct major gift campaigns to support significant investments in facilities.. Since the necessary funds are usually substantial, gifts to capital campaigns are usually paid over a period of several years.

Currently, St. Paul's School is pursuing a major capital campaign to renovate current and construct new facilities: When the Mission Matters.

Endowment Funds

Gifts to the St. Paul’s School Endowment give in perpetuity. The endowment principal is used as a core investment fund with a designated percentage of the earnings available for annual support and other designated expenses.

St. Paul’s Endowment Fund opportunities include:

The Founders and Builders Fund, which honors the founders of the School (The Reverend Donald W. Seaton and The Reverend Canon David R. Forbes) and former Headmaster Richard W. Ackerly for their significant contributions to the development of the School and the advancement of its mission. The Founders and Builders Fund is an unrestricted endowment that supports tuition assistance, faculty development, curriculum, and other purposes determined by the Board of Trustees in furtherance of the School’s mission

Tuition Assistance Fund, which provides long-term capability to maintain a commitment to economic diversity by providing the highest amount of tuition assistance of any similar school in the Bay Area.

Ron Breland Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of the School’s beloved science teacher, which provides tuition assistance to students of color.

The William Randolph Hearst Endowed Scholarship Fund, which was founded by The Hearst Foundation to provide tuition assistance to low income students.

Building Fund, which enables continued improvements to the School’s physical plant in order to provide the safest and most modern environment for learning.

Operating Fund, which supports programs for students and faculty and is essential for the continued professionalism and effectiveness of the School.
