Paying for a St. Paul's Education
Financial Information
The Board of St. Paul's is committed to a socioeconomically diverse student body. To support this goal the School features sliding scale tuition. St. Paul’s Sliding Scale Tuition Program is an integral part of the educational program for the School and supports a continuing commitment to diversity. St. Paul’s is a leader in the Bay Area and the country due to the ability to provide excellent education for students of many different socioeconomic backgrounds. One-third of St. Paul’s students receive a grant towards tuition costs. Over one million dollars is used each year to provide an opportunity for students to attend St. Paul’s. This amount is possible through the tremendous dedication of parents, trustees, friends, parents of alumni, alumni, grandparents, corporations and foundations.
St. Paul’s is committed to need-based tuition assistance. This assistance is awarded to the student based solely upon the need demonstrated by the financial aid application and tax returns. All parents who feel they need assistance in paying tuition should apply.
Tuition and Fees (for the 2007-08 school year*)
Grade & Maximum Tuition
K - 5th Grade - $17,600
6th - 8th Grade - $19,000
Building Assessment: $200 per child
*Tuition rates for the 2008-09 school year are determined by the Board of Trustees in February, 2008. Tuition Assistance
Families are encouraged to apply for the amount of tuition assistance they need. It is important that parents not eliminate themselves from the process because they think their income is too high to qualify. Tuition Assistance packets are available from the Admissions Office begining November 1st. Please complete the application which consists of the Parents' Financial Statement and submit copies of your most recent tax returns and W-2 forms. Both are due with your application.

Application Fee - New Applications: $75
Reservation Deposit - 10% due with enrollment contract.†
Tuition Balance:
• Single Payment (due June 1)
• Two Payments (60% due June 1; 40% due January 1)
• Monthly Payments are arranged through F.A.C.T.S.††
• Late Fees (10 days after published due dates)
• Returned Check Charge: $25
†Per child - nonrefundable; applied toward tuition
††Monthly payments are arranged through F.A.C.T.S., a program that automatically transfers payments from checking accounts. An annual $38 fee per family is assessed for this service.
