An insider's view of St. Paul's. At St. Paul's, we live diversity through community. See our students, parents and faculty at two events that bring us together, Field Day and Halloween 2007. Music on the soundtrack is by the Sixth Grade Choir under the direction of music teacher Melanie DeMore. Click here for video

St. Paul's Episcopal School, located in downtown Oakland, California, enrolls 365 boys and girls from diverse backgrounds in Kindergarten - Grade 8. St. Paul’s seeks to provide a multicultural constructivist education that is intellectually challenging and morally and spiritually enriching. It aims to nurture children’s natural desire to learn through a thought-provoking and rigorous curriculum in which students share cooperatively in the educational process. Caring, committed faculty members, in partnership with parents, serve as role models, mentors and guides. St. Paul’s has an academically talented and ethnically diverse student body and faculty.

St. Paul’s School enrolls students from widely diverse cultural, religious, family, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds who demonstrate the potential to succeed in an intellectually challenging academic program and who by the virtue of their character, will contribute to the life and spirit of the School.

Students generally live in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and are admitted on the basis of academic and social skills, developmental readiness, past school experience, recommendations and character. Kindergarten and sixth grade are primary entry points into the school.
