Renee Torres joined St. Paul’s as Spanish Teacher in 2007. Originally from Venezuela, Renee earned a BA in Linguistics at Central University of Venezuela and an MA in Psychology at Gestalt Institute in Caracas. Her passions are teaching, performing, and directing
Jessie Turner is in her fifth year as Spanish Teacher for fourth, fifth, and seventh grades. She earned her Bachelor of Music from Boston University and has a background in Spanish, French, and Italian. When not in the classroom, Jessie spends time with her son and husband, with whom she runs a five-piece band that plays original pop-rock music at festivals and clubs around the Bay Area. Jessie has released several CDs of self-penned compositions.
Jaime Vallar is in his twentieth year as Spanish Teacher at St. Paul’s, focusing on grades six and eight. He also coaches coed football and boys’ varsity basketball. Jaime has a BFA from California College of the Arts and a California teaching credential. He likes to ride his motorcycle, work in his garden, and play as much competitive tennis as his knees will take. All of this is contingent on the disposition of his 124-pound bilingual American Labrador.
