Educational Care
Susan McGrath is in her sixth year at St. Paul's and is the Head of the Educational Care Department and Grades 3 - 5 Educational Care Coordinator. For the past nine years, Susan has run a tutoring business, and before that she was a first, second, and fifth grade teacher. Susan has a bilingual, cross-cultural teaching credential, a BA in Biology from Mount Holyoke College, and an MA in Latin American Studies from UC-San Diego. In her free time, Susan likes to sculpt, write about her experiences in Latin America, do yoga, and hike.
Eliza Sorensen returns for her fourth year, currently as the K-2 Reading Specialist and Educational Care Coordinator. Eliza is a trained Reading Recovery Teacher and has experience classroom teaching and leading an after school program. Eliza has a BA with honors from Brown University and a CLAD teaching credential from The New College of California. Eliza enjoys swimming in the ocean, biking around Oakland and San Francisco, and being with friends and family.
Jackie Cohen returns to St. Paul’s for her second year as Sixth Grade and Middle School Educational Care Coordinator. Jackie has a BA in Psychology with a minor in English from UC-Berkeley, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Mills College, and an MA in Special Education from St. Mary's College. She worked for seven years in the public schools teaching fifth and sixth grades and as a Middle School Resource Specialist. For the past seven years, she has worked in independent schools facilitating the Schools Attuned Training. She also has a private practice as a Learning Specialist working with students from fourth through twelfth grades. In her free time, Jackie enjoys painting, doing yoga, and spending time with her family and friends.
