Associate Director of Development
We are seeking an Associate Director of Development. The position reports to the Director of Development and is available immediately.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Director of Development and the Development Committee of the Board of Trustees to grow the Annual Fund and assist in the expansion of our Major Gift Program;
• Administer the Annual Fund Program, coordinating individual and direct mail appeals, creating print and electronic based marketing and messaging plan, creating and outputting all electronic and print solicitation materials, compiling and tracking participation, organizing data for pledge reminders, the annual report, and other development activities such as the Phonathon and Thankathon;
• Develop segmentation solicitation strategy and coordinate communications strategy for Annual Fund volunteers;
• Help identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors. Assist with Major Gift prospects across constituent categories;
• Manage Alumni Relations activities, including the expansion of alumni giving, reunions, other alumni events, newsletters, and overseeing the search for “lost” alumni;
• Serve as liaison with Chair(s) of the annual Parent Council fundraiser;
• Oversee organization and staffing of special events;
• Develop, build, and retain positive relationships with the School’s major constituencies.
• Participate in other school and development projects as requested.
Qualifications: Two to three years experience at a non-profit organization, preferably an independent school, with a desire to advance professionally; strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Donor Pro strongly preferred); superb written and oral communications skills; excellent attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines; work with little or no supervision and also be able to take direction; have strong organizational and administrative skills; and project a positive, confident, courteous and professional demeanor at all times. Qualified candidates will work well under pressure and be able to manage multiple and changing priorities. Minimum two years of full-time employment in office work required. Willingness to take initiative, work hard, keep a good sense of humor and be a team player is essential.
