Welcome
Every parent or guardian of a St. Paul’s student is a member of the Parent Association. The active Parent Association works with faculty, administration, and staff to ensure the health and success of the School. The Parent Council is the school-sponsored volunteer organization that provides leadership and representation for the Parent Association.
The Parent Council acts as a communication liaison between the Parent Association and the Board of Directors and Administration. Each class at St. Paul’s has a volunteer representative to the Parent Council who serves as an ambassador for the class, facilitating parent communication and involvement. Parent representatives solicit and offer feedback from parents, as well as present the concerns, ideas, and interests of their individual classes. The president and vice-president of the Parent Council are voting members of St. Paul’s Board of Trustees.
The Parent Council also supports the School’s mission through fundraising, volunteer management, parent education, and community-building programs.
Fundraising is a major priority of the Parent Council. The Parent Council’s fundraising efforts benefit the Tuition Assistance Program, the library, the eighth grade field trip, and other activities. Funds are raised primarily through the annual OakTown Blues and Bar-B-Que event, various Scrip programs, a book fair, and other activities.
The Parent Council recruits and supports the many volunteers involved in the fundraising programs, as well as those involved in educational and community-building efforts. These efforts include:
- Field Day to bring the entire school community together for a day of fun
- Parent Education and Diversity seminars to help parents succeed
- PEP to help our students resist peer pressure and make good choices
- Stuff for Staff to show the staff how much the parent body appreciates their work
All the Parent Council programs are listed under Events & Activities.
The Parent Council meets monthly during the school year. The meetings are held in the evening and are open to the entire Parent Association.
