Who should I blame for my relatively impractical obsession with the Ancient Greeks and Romans?
It all goes back to my three years in Middle School at St. Paul’s. Academically, I was introduced to most of the topics that interest me now – namely anthropology, linguistics, and classics - in sixth grade.
At St. Paul’s, all the ideas that are taught - cultural history, global diversity, service learning, science, spirituality - are not as distinct as they might seem. They’re all connected. Good teaching is always a lesson in respect for complexity.
Middle school is a time to make discoveries that inspire the person we hope to become. I think St. Paul's can take a lot of credit for who I am.
